By Champion [Our Founder] – Grassroots for Climate Action (G4CA)
The monthly Combined Forum Meeting, graciously hosted by Earthlife Africa, continues to serve
as a critical catalyst for amplifying the voices of frontline communities, activists, and emerging leaders in the climate justice movement. As a Champion for Grassroots for Climate Action (G4CA), I am deeply honoured to be part of this dynamic and evolving space that embodies the spirit of collective resistance, reflection, and renewal.
These gatherings are not mere meetings they are assemblies of courage, where those at the grassroots level share lived experiences, interrogate systems of environmental injustice, and shape narratives that reflect the urgency of our time. Each session breathes life into the call for climate
justice, not just as a policy demand, but as a moral imperative rooted in equity, dignity, and intergenerational responsibility.
Earthlife Africa’s leadership in curating this platform is both commendable and necessary. It
continuously empowers a cross-section of society from youth and women to rural activists and urban organizers, to speak truth to power and co-create solutions grounded in community realities. It is here that we are reminded: the climate crisis is not just about rising temperatures, but about deepening inequalities, displaced communities, and silenced voices.
As G4CA, we echo the call for environmental consciousness that starts at the grassroots in
informal settlements, in food gardens, in classrooms, and in places too often overlooked. We stand
for a climate movement that is inclusive, transformative, and built on the knowledge and strength of our people. In every forum, we do not just speak—we ignite. We do not just listen—we act. We do not just gather—we mobilize. Because climate justice delayed is justice denied.
Together with Earthlife Africa and fellow climate defenders, we recommit to building a future where communities are not just protected from the climate crisis, but are leading the charge in
shaping climate solutions.
